  Most days I walk for a few miles on the beach and stop mid-way to empty the sand out of my sneakers. When the left foot is bare I smile every time thinking about the last surgery and how it has completely changed my foot. The actual surgery is just the beginning and really the most painless. Following instructions implicitly for the recovery period - that is both the hard part and most critical. It PAID OFF! Dr. Levine is always with me on the beach!
